Lakes Region Bass Chasers Bass Club

MEMBERSHIP:


1. The number of members in the club will not be restricted to any specific number.
2. At the beginning of each new year, all active members from the previous year will be eligible for membership in the club.
3. Applicants for membership must be sponsored by a member of the club and presented as a candidate for membership at a regularly scheduled meeting.

A. If any member has an objection to admitting the candidate to the club, the member with the objection will inform the President at the end of the meeting. The President will call a special Board of Directors meeting for the next day with the objecting member and the sponsoring member in attendance. The Board of Directors will determine whether to admit the candidate by a secret ballot. The candidate will be admitted by a positive vote of a simple majority of the
Board of Directors present and would become eligible to fish the next tournament. The sponsoring member will be responsible for notifying the candidate of the outcome.

B. If no member objects to the candidate's admission, the candidate will be admitted and will be eligible to fish the next tournament. The Sponsoring member will be responsible for notifying the candidate of
The outcome.


BOARD OF DIRECTORS:

1. The Board of Directors will consist of the following members:
President: Chad Braga
Vice-President/Tournament Director: Ed Peters
Secretary/Treasurer: Jerry McCart

2. The new members of the Board of Directors for the next year will be elected at the last regularly scheduled club meeting in the year.
3. The Board of Directors will submit a questionnaire to the membership during December for suggestions on bylaw, tournament rules, and operational changes for the upcoming year.
4. The Board of Directors will prepare a proposed set of bylaws, tournament rules, operational changes, and tournament schedule for the next year.


MEETINGS:

1. An organizational meeting will be held the last weekend of september for each year the club exists. The Board of Directors will present the proposed bylaw and tournament rule changes and the proposed tournament schedule at this meeting. Changes to the proposals can be submitted by membership from the floor at this organizational meeting.
2. One monthly meeting will be held in september and one in april during the year to conduct business.
3. All meeting locations,times,and dates will be setup on the website or via e-mail


DUES

1. Dues will be $50 per year.

2. Anglers of the year will be awarded free entry into all regular season tournaments for the following year.

DISQUALIFICATION:

1. Any member caught cheating or participating in any unlawful act will be disqualified from that tournament in which the act occurred.
2. In the case of cheating, the member will be removed from the club. The Board of Directors will determine the guilt of the accused when a charge of cheating is made.
3. Any accusation of cheating or participating in an unlawful act must be submitted to the Vice-President/Tournament Director within 15 minutes after the weigh-in is completed.

POINTS:

1. Points will be acquired for each fish weighed during tournament competition.
2. Attendance at meetings will add points to a member's yearly total. Each meeting attended will add 1/2 points to the member's yearly total.
3. All points accumulated during the year will be totaled to determine the Angler of the Year.

PENALTIES:

1. An angler submitting an illegal fish to the weigh-master will be penalized 8 oz. for each illegal fish submitted and the fish will not be weighed.
2. An angler submitting a dead fish to the weigh-master will be penalized 8 oz.
3. A dead fish will not be submited for the large fish pool
4. Any boat late to weigh-in will penalized 8 oz. per min/late per angler(boater and non-boater)
 
LIABILITY:

1. The lakes region bass chasers club and its Board of Directors will not be held liable for any accidents or other altercations that may occur at meetings or tournaments.

CHANGES TO THE BYLAWS AND TOURNAMENT RULES:
1. The Board of Directors and the general membership are responsible for finalizing the Bylaws and Tournament Rules for the new year at the organizational meeting.
2. No Bylaws or Tournament Rules can be changed without notification to all members after the organizational meeting.

DATES:

1. All tournaments will be held on Saturdays and Sundays
2. In case of a night tournament, starting time may begin Friday and Saturday evening. 
3. The date of a tournament can be changed no later than the regular scheduled meeting the month prior to the date the tournament will be held. If a tournament date is changed, all members not present at the meeting will be notified by the Secretary/Treasurer of the change.

TOURNAMENTS AND TIMES:

1. The lakes to be fished for the forth coming year will be proposed and voted on during the last regular meeting of the year.
2. Tournament starting time will be determined at the september meeting prior to the tournament based on nominations/majority vote from the members present

LAUNCHING RULES:

1. A member fishing a tournament may launch from any location on the tournament lake. Check-in prior to launching will not be required.
2. A member fishing a tournament may launch at any time and leave the ramp at his/her discretion. A member may not, however, begin fishing until the scheduled start time of the tournament.
3. However all members must pay and draw there blast off number at regestration area before start time
4. All member will pay tournament fees and draw numbers at registration area before launching
5. Non-boaters and boaters will be paired up at this time
6. In the event of a member being late they will have to find one of the directors and pay tournament fees and have a livewell inspection prior to fishing

BLAST OFF:
 
1. All members will line up  in numerical order
2. Pass safely infront of boat launcher ( member with the highest number )
3. boat launcher will do a livewell and safety inspection on every boat
4. proceed forward at headway speed untill 150 feet away from boat launcher

WEIGH-IN:

1. The weigh-in site for each tournament will be voted on at the september scheduled meeting.
2. Members are expected to be at the weigh-in location by tournament ending time. In the case where boat traffic makes it impossible to either load or beach their boats and get to the weigh-in, verbal check-in with one of the weighmaster for the tournament will be sufficient for the member to be considered on-time. The weighmasters watch will be used as the official time piece for the tournament.
3. All fish must be brought to the weigh-in in a weigh bag with water, no exceptions.
4. The weighmaster will use the measuring board provided by the club to measure fish submitted for weigh-in. Once a member hands his weigh bag to the Weigh master it is considered official and if a short fish is determined by the weigh master the appropriate penalty will be assessed.
5. Any protest must be made to the Vice-President/Tournament Director within 15 minutes after the weigh-in is completed. The decision of the Vice-President/Tournament Director will be final.
6. If the Vice-President/Tournament Director is absent from the tournament, a member of the Board of Directors will be selected to act as Tournament Director by the President.

TOURNAMENT TYPE:

1. All tournaments are stringer tournaments.
2. A big bass pot will be accumulated for each regular tournament.
3. All state and lake rules apply to fish length and number of fish eligible to be weighed. Any exceptions/additions to this tournament rule will be so noted on the Tournament Schedule.
4. All tournaments will be catch and release. However, any member catching a trophy fish may keep the fish.
5. Entry fees for each tournament will be $20 for the day
6. Entry fees for any member that does not have to pay for a fishing license (16 and under) will be $10 untill they win there first tournament or turn 17 years of age
7. All entry fees must be paid to the Secretary/Treasurer prior to fishing that tournament

TEAM FORMAT:

1. A team will be made up of one or two people. Once established, the team must remain the same throughout the year. If the team dissolves during the year but both parties remain in the club, all accumulated points will be lost. If one person leaves the team or cannot finish the year, the remaining member may keep the total accumulated points and finish the year by himself or with an immediate family member (spouse, children, parents, brother, sister).
2. If a member of a team cannot participate in a regular season tournament, the remaining partner can substitute a non-member to fish in the partner's place and receive the points for their weight. This substitution is limited to two times per year and is restricted to amateur fisherman (no liscensed guides or professional fishermen).
3. Immediate family members (spouse, children, parents, brother, sister) can substitute for a team member in any tournament and participate in that tournament in terms of winning prize money as long as their entry fee is paid per established payment requirements prior to the tournament.
4. If any substitution is intended, the Secretary/Treasurer must be notified at the time of tournament sign-up/payment.
5. Separate team members can not come together to form one team unless they are willing to take the lowest team points from the two anglers.



MISCELLANEOUS:

1. All tournament participants must wear life jackets while the boat is running on plane.
2. Only artificial baits can be used in a tournament; pork rind baits are acceptable.
3. Non-boaters are responsible for finding a ride for the tournament.
4. No alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs are  to be consumed during tournament hours or at the weigh-in.
5. The tournament lake is off-limits from 12:01am Wednesday until the tournament start time.
6. Trolling with the outboard motor is prohibited
7. In the event of a tie for big bass the monies will be split
8. {Courtesy rule on fishing distance}. No club team member may fish within 150 yards of another club members boat that is anchored or within 50 yards of a non achord boat unless otherwised agreed upon by both club team members boats. (An achored boat is a boat that is held in position by a line attached to a weight with the trolling motor in the up position)
